Three children are dead and two adults were injured after a carjacking suspect crashed into a crowd of people in Philadelphia.
According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, three children were killed and two adults were critically injured after the driver of a stolen SUV plowed into a fruit stand they were working at.
Authorities said two carjackers held up a real estate agent after she had met with a client a few blocks away on Friday morning. The two men forced her into the backseat of her Toyota 4Runner just before 11:30 a.m.
WPVI reported that investigators have said that the vehicle was speeding and a tire blew out which spun it out of control.
The three young victims, who were selling products at the stand to raise funds for their church, were siblings and their mother is one of the adults critically injured. The victims are said to have been ages 7, 10 and 15.
The real estate worker was still in the backseat of the vehicle when the crash occurred. She is in stable condition.
The two carjackers fled on foot. Police are actively searching for them and have offered a $100,000 reward leading to their capture and conviction.
Philadelphia Police Capt. James Clark vowed to find the suspects responsible for this tragedy. They are described as one black and one Hispanic male each wearing white T-shirts. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact authorities.
