Tom Hardy has been confirmed to join Leonardo DiCaprio in the film The Revenant.
Variety reports that Hardy has been considered for the role for weeks now, but has officially confirmed his role after working through his schedule.
Hardy and DiCaprio previously worked together in Inception.
Will Poulter from We're the Millers is also being considered for a part in the Western directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu.
The Revenant, based on a novel by Michael Punke, is set in the 1820s about a frontiersman (DiCaprio) looking for revenge against those who left him for dead after a bear attack.
Paul Green, James Packer and Brett Ratner are serving as executive producers.
The Wrap reports that the film is scheduled to begin shooting Sep. 22, and is aiming towards a fall 2015 release.
Hardy most recently appeared in Locke, receiving rave reviews, and will next appear alongside the late James Gandolfini in The Drop, and Child 44 alongside Gary Oldman and Noomi Rapace. He is currently filming Legend.
