Trey Songz calls 'Trigga' his 'most authentic musically' album

Rapper Trey Songz released his new album, Trigga, on Tuesday, and he had no problem articulating why he was proud of the new ‘musically authentic’ album.

"I feel like this album is actually the best released," Songz said in an interview with BET. "The best strategized, best marketing, the most authentic musically, you know, and true to a different side of myself that everybody may not know."

Songz later said that he feels great and that this experience is more exciting than the release of his first album.

"I feel great, I have the excitement that I had around my first one, but it’s more exciting because I’m established and I know the ropes a little bit," he said. "But yeah, it’s a great feeling."

There are plenty of collaborations on the album. “Disrespectful,” features Mila J, the sister of up-and comer Jhene Aiko. “Dead Wrong” features Ty Dolla $ign. He samples Teena Marie’s “Oh La La La," according to the Associated Press.

Other songs on the album include “Na Na,” “Smartphones,” and "Change Your Mind."

Other R&B albums from the recording artist include Trey Day, Ready, and 2012’s Chapter V. Trigga, released by Atlantic Records, was released in stores on Tuesday.
