Vanessa Williams dropped a bombshell on OWN’s Oprah’s Master Class, revealing she was molested by a girl when she was just 10 years old.
Williams, 51, previously revealed she had been sexually abused as a child in her memoir You Have No Idea in 2012, but she didn’t describe the details until now.
According to Fox News, Williams said she was molested by a family friend who was 18 years old during a vacation to California, saying the girl snuck into her room at night and “took my bottoms off.”
"It awakens your sexuality at an age where it shouldn't be awakened. Had that not happened in my life and had I had an opportunity to have a normal courtship with a boyfriend at 16 or whatever... there wouldn't have been that shame that was always haunting me,” she explained. “It made me more sexually promiscuous and more curious at a younger age than I should have been."
Page Six reports Williams shared that she never told anyone when she got back home to New York, although she had planned to. When she got home, she found out her uncle had died and she just “suppressed” it after that.
