Wentworth Miller tapped for Captain Cold role in The CW's 'The Flash' series

By Kyle Johnson,

Wentworth Miller has signed on for a guest role in the upcoming The Flash series on The CW, it was announced on Friday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

He will appear in the fourth episode of the series as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, executive producer Greg Berlanti revealed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Captain Cold is an antagonist of The Flash and leads a group called the Rogues in the comic series.

Grant Gustin stars as Barry Allen/The Flash who is an assistant police forensic investigator who gains superspeed through a freak (though in comics it happens so often the term isn't truly apt) accident while looking into a series of robberies in Central City.

Others set to appear or co-star in The Flash include Danielle Panabaker, Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdez, while Arrow star Stephen Amell will appear in the first episode and his cousin Robbie Amell is set to appear as Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm.

The CW Arrow spinoff series will premiere Oct. 7. The first teaser-trailer was released back in May and the pilot episode leaked online in June.
