Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard seems to find his way into every major Hollywood project these days and Marvel movies are no different. Skarsgard confirmed that he will be back for another round as Dr. Erik Selvig in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Skarsgard added that he wasn’t sure how much he could say about his role in the new movie, but he’s on call if Marvel needs a character to get some exposition out of the way.
“There's a lot of explanations to do when it comes to that universe,” he added.
Skarsgard also had some nice words to say about Marvel chief Kevin Feige.
“I like working with them because if I have a problem with the scene, I have Kevin Feige's number,” he said. “I can call the head of the studio. You can't do that when you work on a normal Disney film or with Warner Bros or Paramount.”
The actor has been a member of the Marvel fold since the first Thor movie and also appeared in Thor: The Dark World. He seems to be Hollywood’s favorite actor when a small supporting part needs to be filled. In 2013 alone, he was credited with six films, including both parts of Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac epic.
He has three projects on the docket for this year and is also working on Disney’s Cinderella as the Grand Duke. That film is directed by his Thor director, Kenneth Branagh.
Age of Ultron opens on May 1, 2015.
