Billy Joel sings 'Uptown Girl' to ex-wife Christie Brinkley at MSG, she shares backstage photos with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively

Billy Joel sang his classic hit “Uptown Girl” to its original muse, Christie Brinkley, during a NYC show at Madison Square Garden on Aug. 7.

Brinkley watched from the front row as her ex-husband serenaded her in front of the entire audience. Joel even signaled for the cameras to focus in on Brinkley as he sang. At the end of the song, Brinkley’s smiling face appeared on the big screen.

The Daily News reports Brinkley, 60, was in the music video for the song when they were still married in 1983. They split in 1994 after nine years of marriage and have one daughter together, Alexa Ray Joel.

Brinkley took to Instagram to show off a photo of herself smiling from the front row. She captioned it, “He's still got it! #msg #franchise #nationltreasure.”

She also shared backstage photos of herself with Joel and her two kids; Sailor and Jack, as well as a candid group show involving Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

“Bumped into an old friend at the Garden,” she wrote.
