Girls actress Allison Williams will be flying to Neverland in the title role of Peter Pan Live! and celebrities and fans are reacting to the casting.

Celebrities such as Katy Perry and Williams’ own father, NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams commented on the casting.

Williams’ Girls co-star Lena Dunham tweeted about her excitement for Peter Pan Live!.

Girls executive producer Jennifer Konner also tweeted regarding Williams’ role.

Fans also took to Twitter to express their thoughts on the new Peter Pan.

NBC will be broadcasting the live production Peter Pan this winter after test running The Sound of Music Live! starring Carrie Underwood last December. NBC’s website for the show says that Oscar-winning producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the same men who put on The Sound of Music Live!, will be producing the show.

TheCelebrityCafe.com previously reported that Christopher Walken will play Pan’s nemesis Captain Hook. Frozen actress Kristen Bell was originally sought out to play the title role of Peter Pan but could not due to scheduling conflicts. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced.

Williams joined the cast on Tuesday.
