Chicago White Sox win game in seven-inning rain out

By Ricky Yandoli,

The Chicago White Sox won against the Texas Rangers in a home game that was stopped in the seventh inning due to whether conditions being bad. The final score was White Sox; 5, Rangers; 3.

In the beginning of the game, Chicago was losing three to zero. However, they came back and did not allow the Rangers to score another run, ESPN reports.

Rookie sensation Jose Abreu was a contributor to the team, ultimately picking up the victory. Abreu has been on a role lately. In the month of July he had a batting average of .374 while producing 19 runs batted in.

He earned his second player of the month honors, and third rookie of the month honors. He is the first player in major league baseball history to accomplish those accolades.

Despite Abreu having a marvelous first season in Chicago, the team is still eight games out of first place, with an overall record of 55 wins and 58 losses, according to MLB.com.
