Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe admits Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is his least favorite movie, claiming his performance is not up to par.
This isn’t the first time Radcliffe has shown a dislike towards the film, however. In 2011, Radcliffe expressed similar issues, admitting he “hated” his performance.
"Half-Blood Prince wasn't my favorite installment overall. I just hated my performance," Radcliffe told Total Film. "The film was good, but it's a huge amount of exposition. I think it's the most beautiful of all the chapters ... but [it's] basically about setting up No. 7. I just wasn't very happy with No. 6 in terms of my own performance."
The Women In Black actor further explained his dislike for the film, revealing he believes his worst performance was in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and his best was in Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix.
"I never liked watching myself on film, but I do make myself sit through it,” Radcliffe discussed with the Daily Mail. "I think it comes from not actually realizing I didn’t have to go to my own premieres and watch the film. That’s something I’ve only just realized you don’t have to do. I always went along and sat with everyone else watching the movie. And that’s why it’s hard to watch a film like 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,' because I’m just not very good in it. I hate it. My acting is very one-note and I can see I got complacent and what I was trying to do just didn’t come across.”
Radcliffe will be appearing in Michael Dowse’s film, What If, starring Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks), Megan Park (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Adam Driver (Inside Llewyn Davis), Mackenzie Davis (That Awkward Moment), and Rafe Spall (Prometheus). The Harry Potter star recently admitted he likes getting naked on camera, referring to a skinny dipping scene that takes place in the film.
What If will be premiering in select theaters this weekend.
