Dave Grohl and wife welcome third child

Foo Fighters' frontman Dave Grohl and his wife of 11 years, Jordyn Blum have just welcomed a third baby girl into the world.

According to US Weekly, the baby, named Ophelia Saint, was born on August 1.

Grohl and Blum – who, according to Celebrity Baby Scoop, have been married since 2003 – currently have three children. In addition to Ophelia, the couple have an eight year-old (Violet Maye) and a five year-old (Harper Willow).

The Daily Mail notes that the announcement of the birth comes at an awkward time, however, as it comes only a few days after the news that Grohl’s father died on August 6th, after a long battle with sickness.

The announcement was made on the Facebook page of The David Grohl Alley Scholarship Program.

As The Daily Mail notes, the name of the child is often associated with the character from Shakespeare’s most famous play, Hamlet, but originates from the Greek word "ophelos", which means “help.” The name, however, has declined in usage since the 19th century, since it was used in the controversial novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Grohl has quite the busy future, with both a HBO documentary series and upcoming Foo Fighters album, Sonic Highways, which has recently released its track list. Both the documentary and the album are following up on critically praised works, with documentary Sound City and album Wasting Light winning considerable praise and several awards, including five Grammy Awards in 2012.
