During last night’s season finale of the Discovery Channel’s long-running hit Mythbusters, hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman announced that the second Mythbusting team is leaving. Fan-favorites Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara are leaving the show.
The news was announced during a tag that looked hastily added to the end of the show. In the segment, Hyneman and Savage thanked the trio for their hard work and dedication to science for the past decade. However, they said that the show’s next season will go back to the show’s original format, in which both myths were busted (or occasionally confirmed) by the main hosts. They did not give any specific reason for them leaving, but it sounds like it was mutual, based on post-show tweets.
Savage wrote, “It's been a pleasure to not only work with you but call you our friends.” He also included a picture of the team.
Byron sent a series of tweets, thanking fans for their support and urging them to follow her for updates on the next step in her career.
I am sad for an ending but there will be exciting new adventures for us.

Imahara thanked the crew for letting them blow stuff up.
Thanks @MythBusters for allowing us to teach science in a whole new way. Also, explosions. Now, on to the next adventure!

Finally, Bellici also thanked fans for their support.
You guys are so sweet. Thank you for all your tweets, but this means new beginnings...I promise.
