Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson again says he's taking a DC Comics role, either Shazam or Black Adam

By Daniel Levine,

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is definitely going to have a role in Warner Bros.’ DC Comics films, but he can’t say what it will be. He has been teasing fans about it for months, but when the studio didn’t say anything about him at Comic-Con last month, we are still trying to figure out what he will do.

The Rock is in Mexico this weekend to promote Hercules. He reportedly told the media there that he is planning on playing either Shazam or his enemy, Black Adam, notes The Associated Press. He has said that he is a big fan of anti-heroes, which makes Black Adam one of his favorite DC characters.

As Cinemablend points out, La Nacion also quoted Johnson as saying that he would play one of the roles.

Back in July, Johnson told Total Film that there would be an announcement about what he’s doing in the DC world soon. Many thought that would come at San Diego Comic-Con, but it didn’t.

Shazam, formerly known as Captain Marvel, is one of the strongest DC characters and one of the few who can take on Superman. He is actually young orphan Billy Batson, who just has to say “Shazam!” and he turns into the superhero. Black Adam is his main villain. Maybe Johnson could play both?

Shazam could be out as soon as summer 2016, which would be just after Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, again, the studio hasn’t said anything.
