Police are investigating the deaths of five family members who were found shot in their Northern Virginia home.
According to the Associated Press, deputies were called to the family’s Culpepper home around 10 p.m. Sunday after a relative found the bodies.
CBS 6 noted that the relative who made the discovery told authorities that it was “a possible death scene.”
So far, officials have not released many details about the case but did say that the deaths are being treated as homicides.
Detective Angela Deavers did not release the identities of the victims, however, she said that the deceased were two adults and three children.
“Deputies arrived and found two adults, both age 35, and three juveniles dead.
All five suffered gunshot wounds,” the sheriff’s office posted on its Facebook page. “Sheriff units remain on scene at this time and are being assisted by the Virginia State Police collecting evidence.”
The investigation conducted by police and the sheriff’s office continued on Monday.
