George Clooney and fiance Amal Alamuddin obtain marriage license, will marry in Italy

By Gina DiFalco,

George Clooney and his fiancé, Amal Alamuddin, have obtained a marriage license in London, England. A notice was posted outside of Chelsea Old Town Hall, included with their intention to wed in Italy, which is protocol.

DListed was the first to post a photo of the notice.

Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea requires that if one person in a couple tying the knot is not a citizen of the European Union, they must file a notice of intention to marry. However, the fact that they did this now does not mean they will marry any time soon.

E! Online reports this license is good for a year.

Rumor has it that the couple will get married next month at Clooney’s Lake Como home, the Daily Mail reports.

In a move that shocked the world, Clooney proposed to the human rights lawyer back in April. He was previously married to Talia Balsam, who he divorced in 1993, but has publicly stated he would never remarry.
