Vocal track of Taylor Swift's performance of 'Shake it Off' might surprise you

By Greta Heggeness,

Have you ever wondered what Taylor Swift sounds like without the help of her background music and singers? Look no further!

While we know Swift isn’t the best singer in Hollywood, a new alternate look at her performance of “Shake it Off” at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards might surprise you. DeadSpin has released an isolated vocal version of Swift’s performance, which features the singer’s vocals without the background music.

In her defense, the performance did include a lot of choreography, dancing, and running around, which may have affected her ability to sing the song. However, the leaked track makes it clear that the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer’s band plays a large role in maintaining her pop star image.

As we previously reported, the “We Are Never Getting Back Together” singer has revealed that she will be releasing her first pop album, 1989, on Oct. 27. Do you think this isolated vocal track will affect the release?
