The world's smallest woman, Jyoti Amge, has been tapped for a role in the upcoming season of FX's American Horror Story: Freaks.

Ryan Murphy, the anthology series showrunner (right), tweeted the casting news on Wednesday, along with a picture of series star Jessica Lange with Amge. He wrote, "Jessica and our newest cast member Jyoti Amge...the world's smallest woman."

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Amge is only 24.7 inches tall. The Nagpur, India native has a genetic disorder called Achrondoplasia, Variety notes.

Amge joins the Patti LaBelle as those recently cast in AHS: Freaks. LaBelle will appear in four episodes as Gabourey Sidibe's character's mother.

The latest season of the anthology series turns back the clock to the 1950s and centers on one of the last remaining freak shows, this one in Florida.

AHS mainstays Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts return for new roles and are joined by Angela Bassett and Michael Chiklis. John Carroll Lynch will play the season's big bad.
