Lil Wayne, Drake team up for new single 'Grindin'' before starting tour

By Daniel S Levine,

Lil Wayne and Drake are about to start a tour together and there’s no better way to kick one off than releasing a new single. The two released a new track called “Grindin’” which will appear on Wayne’s next album.

The track was posted on Friday, the day the Young Money duo start their Drake vs Lil Wayne tour. It is expected that the track will be included on Wayne’s Tha Carter V.

According to MTV News, the artwork for the single was revealed by NBA star Kevin Durant on his Instagram page. The image is all red with the title of the track in white. Wayne’s name appears on top of the title, with Drake’s name below.

In other Wayne and Drake news, Billboard reports that they are launching a special app to go with the tour, created with sponsor Capcom. It’s a game that lets you play Drake or Lil Wayne in a “rap battle” as if you were playing a Street Fighter game.

“Artists don't do this sort of thing for their fans very often, so we think we are out in front of improving the interactive concert and overall experience for the show,” Amanda White and Jon Gibson of iam8bit, which worked on the app, told Billboard.

The Drake vs Lil Wayne tour kicks off tonight at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Center, New York. The tour wraps up on Sept. 27 in Woodlands, Texas.

You can hear the new single, which does feature plenty of strong language, here.
