Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey has a new gig – he’s the new face of Lincoln. Fresh off of a career-reviving hot streak in Hollywood last year with True Detective and Dallas Buyers Club, the actor is now fronting the company’s MKC sport-utility vehicle.
McConaughey will promote the vehicle in an upcoming series of both television and digital campaigns, starting with an ad in September. Drive’s Nicolas Winding Refn will direct.
Forbes notes the man behind the “alright, alright, alright” slogan will help viewers “to experience the vehicle through unscripted moments.”
In a statement, he explained, “I like where they are heading with their transformation” and referred to himself as a “long-term admirer” of the brand.
Lincoln hopes to reach a younger demographic with their partnership with McConaughey. “I would be able to be myself in this collaboration,” he said of what sealed the deal.
The Lincoln MKC is priced relatively low for a compact luxury SUV, starting at $33,995.
