Comedian and former host Niecy Nash will have a recurring role on the The Mindy Project's third season which is set to premiere Sept. 16 on Fox.
Nash will play the role of Dr. Jean Fishman on the hit show, a rival of Mindy’s and who is described as a “take no prisoners type who happens to be a lesbian,” Entertainment Weekly reports.
Nash has kept quiet about her role on the show, but star of the show, Mindy Kaling is excited to have the actress come on board, she tweeted:

Nash, 44, first gained fame with her role as Deputy Raineesha Williams on Reno 911!, which aired from 2003 to 2009. Nash also hosted the show Clean House on the Style Network, which aired from 2003 to 2010, during that time Nash won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Special. She has also starred in her own reality show on TLC, as well as a wedding special on the network.
Now fans will get to see more of Nash this fall on Fox.
