Police in east Tulsa have said that they arrested a 19-year-old man after a fatal stabbing occurred at a party Sunday night.
The Associated Press reported that Tulsa police spokesman Craig Johnson said that the suspect, Austin Nation, was apprehended and taken into custody Monday morning.
According to Tulsa World, officers first received a call around 9:20 p.m. Sunday that a 20-year-old man had been stabbed after a fight at a back-to-school party. The victim, who had multiple stab wounds in his torso, was taken to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later.
Authorities said that Nation fled the scene, but later returned to turn himself in. He faces a first-degree murder charge.
Investigators have been questioning several other people who were at the party and may have witnessed the crime. Police would also like to hear from anyone who was at the residence, but left prior to their arrival.
Nation is being held in the city’s county jail without bond.
This is the 29th homicide in Tulsa this year.
