On Saturday, Indiana Pacers star Paul George had a famous visitor who stopped by the hospital to check on him.
According to theLos Angeles Times, boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. made an unexpected visit to see George post-surgery.
The basketball star posted a photo of Mayweather by his bedside on Instagram, along with a message of appreciation to the champ for paying him a visit.
The photo quickly gained thousands of “likes” and comments from get-well wishers.
On Friday, the 24-year-old suffered a horrific leg injury while playing a scrimmage game for Team USA in Las Vegas. George jumped up to contest a lay-up from James Harden in the fourth quarter, but when he came back down his right leg gave way and he landed awkwardly.
The injury reminded many of the one sustained by ex-Louisville guard Kevin Ware in the 2013 East Regional finals against the Duke Blue Devils.
After his compound fracture, Ware was able to dunk a basketball within six months and returned to the court just eight months later. Hopefully, George too will have a speedy recovery and be able to rejoin his team better than ever.
