Music makes for strange bedfellows, but the news that Paul McCartney and Kanye West are secretly working on a track together is still surprising. Obviously, their collaboration is no longer secret - if the report is true.
Early Monday, the New York Post’s Page Six reported that West and the former Beatle are working on more than one track together and could turn it into an entire album. One song is called “Piss On My Grave” at the moment. According to the Post, that track is “sparking some chatter,” whatever that means.
Apparently, the collaboration wasn’t kept a secret from West’s wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who is telling friends that she’s surprised by the provocative name. She’s probably never heard McCartney’s “Hi Hi Hi.”
West’s rep hasn’t commented on the collaboration, but he was seen at McCartney’s show at Dodger Stadium last week.
If McCartney and West only plan on making one track together, it could wind up on the new album West recently spoke of. The single, “All Day,” already leaked, but there is no firm date for West’s follow-up to Yeezus.
Meanwhile, McCartney recently closed Candlestick Park. He remains on tour in California and will perform in San Diego on Aug. 28.
