Peter Dinklage and Taylor Schilling are working together, but it’s not for the elaborate Game of Thrones and Orange is the New Black crossover you may have been hoping for. Instead, the two television stars are going to star in an off-Broadway production of A Month in the Country by Ivan Turgenev.
Dinklage will play Rakitin, while Schilling has signed on for Natalya in the Classic Stage production, the company announced Tuesday. The play centers on a love triangle, in which Natalya falls for her young son’s tutor, but she is married and also has a close friend, Rakitin, who is in love with her.
Previews for the show start on Jan. 9, 2015 and Erica Schmidt, Dinklage’s wife, is directing.
As Entertainment Weekly points out, the production joins an already star-studded season for Classic Stage. Peter Sarsgaard will star in Hamlet while Chris Noth has been cast in Doctor Faustus.
While Dinklage has taken to the New York stage before, it has been several years. He was last seen on the stage in 2007 in Ethan Hawke’s Things We Want. It will be Orange is the New Black star Schilling’s first New York stage production.
