It turns out that just because you play James Bond in the movies, that doesn’t mean you can play agent 007 in video games. Pierce Brosnan figured that out when Jimmy Fallon challenged him to play the Nintendo 64 Goldeneye game, which is still recognized as one of the best video games ever made.
At the beginning of the segment on the Tonight Show last night, Brosnan warned Fallon that he wasn’t good at it, even admitting that he shot himself in the foot once. But that didn’t stop Fallon from getting Brosnan back behind the old N64 controls. Fallon was talking like a Bond villain, while Bond himself struggled just to find a weapon to use.
“Jimmy, I thought you liked me!” Brosnan said after Fallon’s villain shot him.
“No! I love you!” Fallon replied.
Brosnan was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about his new movie, The November Man, in which Brosnan plays a different kind of secret agent.
Goldeneye was the first time Brosnan played Bond, back in 1995. He played the character three more times, with 2002’s Die Another Day as his last go-round with MI6.
