Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Aniston are still among Hollywood’s highest-paid actresses, but Jennifer Lawrence is too hot to be kept out of the loop. The Hunger Games star is making waves in tinseltown and is moving up the ranks, as Forbes’ latest list of wealthy people shows.
Bullock easily topped the list, though, thanks to Gravity, which was a rare critical and commercial success. The Oscar-winning film by Alfonso Cuaron lit up the box office last fall, entirely thanks to Bullock’s nearly solo performance. Gravity wound up making $716 million internationally, and Bullock got a nice back-end deal with Warner Bros.
So, with that in mind, Bullock raked in $51 million from July 2013 to July 2014, notes Forbes.
However, that would only put her at No. 3 on the overall top-paid actors list. As Forbes said last month, Robert Downey, Jr. pulled in $75 million in the past 12 months. Bullock would come in at No. 3, barely behind Dwayne Johnson’s $52 million.
Lawrence earned big bucks thanks to The Hunger Games franchise. She earned less than $1 million upfront for the first movie, but whoever is doing her negotiating deserves a raise. She made $34 million over the past 12 months. It also helps that she’s in X-Men movies now.
Aniston is No. 3 with $31 million. She scored a surprise hit with We’re the Millers, which paired her with Jason Sudeikis.
The rest of the Top 10 features: Gwyneth Paltrow ($19 million); Angelina Jolie ($18 million); Cameron Diaz ($18 million); Scarlett Johansson ($17 million); Amy Adams ($13 million); Natalie Portman ($13 million); and Kristen Stewart ($12 million).
