Through a Yahoo livestream, Taylor Swift announced a new album, 1989, released new single "Shake It Off" and an accompanying music video.
The single "Shake It Off" came about over the idea that it is out of your hands when people talk about you or create rumors, E! News reports. Instead, what is controllable is how you handle the talk and rumors.
The album, 1989, which is titled after her birth year, will hit stores on Oct. 27, but fans are able to pre-buy the album online starting Monday.
"We've made my favorite album I've ever made," Swift admitted. She also noted that it was her "first documented, official pop album." She was influenced by 80's pop music, she explained.

According to USA Today, the Yahoo announcement stream was done at the top of the Empire State Building. A small group of fans were selected to join her.
In addition to announcing a new album and single/music video, Swift also showed off the cover for the album, which is styled like a Polaroid photograph. The album will come with 13 photos, which are not all identical from copy to copy. "You'll get various different kinds of photos."
Swift was tapped to perform for a fourth time at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, joining fellow musicians Iggy Azalea, Marron 5, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Usher.
