Actor Wesley Snipes was served with legal documents while attending The Expendables 3 premiere earlier this week.
Snipes, who’s role in the film is his first since his release from prison, was heading from the premiere to the after party when he was handed the summons ordering him to appear for a debtor’s examination.
BET reports the actor is being sued by public relations firm Sitrick & Company for failure to pay fees when the company was working for Snipes while he faced tax evasion charges.
Snipes is wanted by the company to “furnish information to aid in enforcement of a money judgement.” He allegedly owes the firm $103,000. Radar Online reports the document also stated that the actor “may be subject to arrest and punishment for contempt of court and the court may take an order requiring him to pay reasonable attorneys’ fees incurred by the judgment creditor in this proceeding.”
The 52-year-old actor was released from prison in April of last year, after he spent three years in prison for tax evasion. Snipes was sentenced in 2008 and began his prison stint in 2010.
