Popular WNBA athlete, Brittney Griner, proposed to fellow WNBA player, Glory Johnson, who plays forward for the Tulsa Shock.
Griner, who plays center for the Phoenix Mercury, documented the moment on her Instagram page with a picture of herself on one knee, with the sweet caption: “Last Night was a Night to Remember. I became the happiest person on this earth! (almost pass out but when that one word came out I came back to life) Me and my baby @missvol25 are in it for Life."

The happy couple was celebrating their two month anniversary when Griner decided to make it official, according to Buzzfeed.
Griner has become a prominent figure in both the world of sports and in the gay community since coming out last year and starting her professional career with the Phoenix Mercury. Her memoir, In My Skin, documents her coming out, and criticism revolving around college coach Kim Mulkey, according to New York Post. Griner’s public coming out paved the way for other professional athletes to have the courage to divulge their sexual preferences and break down the barriers of sexual orientation in the world of sports.
Fans can see images of the couples’ engagement by following both Griner and her lady love Johnson on Instagram.
