'Resurrection' Recap: 'Will'

So many events took place in the Resurrection episode: “Will.”

Maggie (Devin Kelley) believes that all the returned that got sick in the last episode have the flu or some sort of virus. There are five people with an illness, six if you include Holmes, who disappeared a few episodes ago.

Fred (Matt Craven) informs Bellamy (Omar Epps) of the 12 people who died in a fire. He tells Bellamy that his family tried to cover it up by saying they died in a trucking accident. Bellamy is curious and wants to know more, he adds that Margret (Michelle Fairley) might know something. Fred says he already asked her if she knows something, but she doesn’t want to share it with him. “You dig this up, the only people that get hurt are the people you care about,” Fred tells Bellamy, referring to the Langstons. Bellamy later tells Maggie that he will no longer investigate the bones.

Elaine (Samaire Armstrong) notices that Barbara (April Billingsley) is feeling lonely. She offers to keep Barbara company. “Maggie isn’t always great on feelings, but having you back is what she always wanted,” Elaine tells Barbara. Barbara puts the blame on herself, but Elaine tells her, “Everybody makes mistakes, but the ones who love us, forgive us.”

Elaine tells Maggie that she should ease up on her mom because she’s lonely and it seems her fling with Sam is over because he is much older than her. Barbara tells Maggie that it must have been hard to grow up without a mother, but Maggie informs her that Fred did fine raising her on his own. Barbara tells Maggie that she can tell Fred’s changed a lot. They seem to be making a new start to get to know each other as Maggie tells Barbara 'the more I get to know you, the more I like you as a person.'
After the conversation with Maggie, Barbara heads over to Fred’s house with a bottle of alcohol and they hook up. Afterwards, they have a conversation about a concert they went to years ago and Barbara asks Fred if he remembers what they told each other. “I’ll always love you,” Fred says.

Margaret later comes to Fred’s house to have breakfast with him, only to discover Barbara in “little to nothing,” as Margaret calls it.

Meanwhile Tom (Mark Hildreth) has finally opened up his new church, designed specifically for the returned. He tells them that they are no different than the living; they deserve love and forgiveness as well.

Back at the Langston’s, Bellamy informs Margaret that he knows about the bones and that he believes she dumped them. “Whatever you think you know is in the past and it shall stay in the past,” Margaret tells Bellamy informing him that she knows about his secret as well.

After asking Bellamy several times about contacting the government, Maggie wants to know why Bellamy keeps shutting her down. She finally puts two and two together and realizes that Bellamy is the one who contacted the government about the bones. “You’re lying,” Maggie tells Bellamy when he denies calling the government. “You don’t know me,” Bellamy responds. You’re right Maggie says as she leaves the room.

The whole episode Maggie is dedicating her time to treating the returned, who have fallen ill. She checks out Jacob (Landon Gimenez) and Margaret, who are both healthy. Henry (Kurtwood Smith) tells Maggie to make sure she takes the time to take care of herself as well. She tells him that she is fine.

After her checkup, Margaret informs Maggie about her mom and dad. “I hope he’s going into this with his eyes wide open,” Margaret says. She adds that Barbara constantly breaks Fred’s heart only to reel him back in. Maggie tells Margaret that she will talk to her dad. Fred tells Maggie, “Things can’t be the way they used to be. I know that, but we can be friends. I think we both need one.” Maggie tells Margaret that there is nothing to worry about and Margaret says she will stay out of it.

Meanwhile Deputy Carl (Chris Berry) is still dealing with his obnoxious older brother, who has fallen ill. Carl is desperate to make him disappear like Holmes so that he will no longer have to deal with him. He lies and tells him that the pharmacy didn’t have his medicine ready, leaving Mikey (Glenn Fleshler) on the couch with his skin a purplish-blue as he coughs up blood.

Back at Janine (Lori Beth Sikes) and Tom’s, Janine goes into Rachel’s (Kathleen Munroe) room to find her bleeding from the nose. “Tom come in here! She won’t wake up,” Janine says. They rush her to Maggie, who tells Bellamy that she is stabilized, but she knows nothing about it. She tells Bellamy to call the government before it’s too late.

Bellamy calls his boss, who is no help. She tells him there is nothing she can do and that this could be the natural cause of things because they are returned, they get sick and disappear.

Bellamy tells Maggie what his boss said and she adds that she wanted to admit Rachel for precautionary measures, but Rachel wouldn’t let her. Bellamy also confesses to Maggie that she was right about him contacting the government about the bones. He tells her that she is probably the person that knows him best. She asks him why he contacted the government and just as he is about to tell her, her phone rings. Rachel has a fever and she has to get back to the hospital.

Meanwhile Margaret takes Barbara for a walk. She tells her Maggie an Fred are better off without her and that they were brought back to be punished for their sins. She tells her that all of her pain can vanish if she lets go and then suddenly Barbara disappears. Elaine witnesses it all and runs to tell Maggie that her mom is gone.
Back at Carl’s, Mikey has also disappeared.

Bellamy has fallen sick as well. Maggie returns home to see a note Bellamy left her that reads, “Looking for some answers, I’ll be in touch.” The episode ends with Bellamy coughing uncontrollably in the back of his car.
