Authorities in Florida said a man fatally shot his friend while listening to and acting out lyrics by rapper Waka Flocka Flame.
Florida Today reported that police charged Rodney Clark Patrick Jr., 22, with manslaughter in the accidental death of his close friend 17-year-old Douglas Trey Winslow. The Brevard County Sheriff's Office also charged Patrick with tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance.
During a frantic 911 call, Patrick allegedly told police that Winslow had accidentally shot himself in the head, but later told investigators that was not the case.
NBC noted that authorities have said the pair was listening to Waka Flocka Flame’s "Bustin' At 'Em" song when Patrick reportedly began acting out the lyrics.
"We've got a gun being waved around. We've got the safety being clicked on and off -- a loaded gun," said prosecutor Gary Beatty.
In the past, Patrick posted several images on social media posing with a handgun.
If convicted, he could face 25 years to life in prison.
