Mike Huckabee, Jon Stewart have epic argument about Beyonce (Video)

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart last night to talk about his new book. Stewart couldn’t resist bringing up Huckabee’s recent controversial comments on Beyonce and her husband, Jay Z.

In Huckabee’s new book, Gods, Guns, Grits and Gravy, he highlights the differences between the Hollywood “culture of crude” and the culture of the middle states. He told Stewart that he agrees that Beyonce is a “mega talent,” but she doesn’t have to be vulgar.

Stewart then showed a clip of Ted Nugent performing “Cat Scratch Fever” on Huckabee’s show in 2011, with Huckabee even playing bass for Nugent.

“Do you see my point? You excuse that type of crudeness because you agree with his stance on firearms,” Stewart said. “You don’t approve of Beyonce because she seems alien to you.”

“My point is, that song is an adult song,” Huckabee later said of “Cat Scratch Fever.” “Geared for adults. But today, we have a very different kind of depiction and things that are considered perfectly OK for kids. That’s my point.”

“You can’t single out a corrosive culture and ignore the one you live in because you’re used to it,” Stewart added.

Earlier this month, Huckabee called Jay Z a “pimp” for “exploiting” Beyonce, suggesting that Jay Z was the one telling her to show off explicit moves. Huckabee recently left his Fox News show to start thinking about running for President in 2016.
