Kevin Smith, Gary Shore and more join horror anthology 'Holidays'

Kevin Smith was once a filmmaker on the break of retirement. You wouldn't know it, though, from the slew of projects the filmmaker has in the works right now. In addition to these films, Smith joins a collection of filmmakers set to contribute to the upcoming horror anthology film Holidays.

Deadline got word on the new horror movie. It will feature shorts from a variety of holidays, including Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, Halloween and Mother's Day. In addition to Smith, Gary Shore (Dracula Untold), Scott Stewart (Priest), Matt Johnson (The Dirties), Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch (Starry Eyes), Nicholas McCarthy (At The Devil’s Door), Sarah Smith (The Midnight Swim) and short film director Anthony Scott Burns are signed on to make segments.

It's unclear what filmmaker will do what at this point. Although, on Twitter, Smith revealed his segment is called Hollow Ian. More directors are set to included in the near future as well. At one point in time, Smith was gearing up to make the Christmas anthology horror film Krampus, so it's not certain if that film was going to feature this short originally.

XYZ Films and Distant Corners Entertainment produce. John Hegeman is the main creative brain here. Distant Corners hopes to make four-to-six genre properties annually.

Holidays is a great opportunity for some of the most creative and twisted minds in the genre space today to really let loose and have fun,” said Hegeman.

Smith is currently putting together his next project Yoga Hosers, under his True North Trilogy.
