Top 10 Eddie Redmayne movies

What makes a dignified, diversely talented actor? An accent, charm, good looks, versatile roles or ability to be loved even playing a villain? If those are some of the standards for a good actor, Eddie Redmayne might be up with some of the best.

Redmayne is a fairly recent movie actor. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared in several television series for an episode. His first film, Like Minds, was released in 2006. Although the movie was not critically praised, Redmayne’s performance as a boy suspected of murder was applauded. The Guardian stated, “Eddie Redmayne is very good as the prime suspect: icily detached, taunting the investigating officers, playing them along, as if Hannibal Lecter had turned up in a production of Another Country.”

After this film, increasingly better film roles were given to this English actor. He also appeared in several British mini-series for television. This rise to fame happened steadily over the past nine years. The Daily Mail comments on Redmayne’s not so glamorous past modeling knitted sweaters but notes that now “he is hotly tipped to take home the Best Actor award at the Oscars in Hollywood tonight.”

Thus, it was a wonderful joy but not a huge surprise that Redmayne won the Oscar for 2015. However, this was not his only award for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. Some of the others include a Golden Globe, BAFTA, Hollywood Film Awards and more. Here are other movies where he shone and proved his immense talent and range of abilities.
