Singer Justin Bieber and actress Lupita Nyong'o are celebrating their birthdays today, March 1.

Justin Bieber, 21

Singer and songwriter Justin Bieber turns 21 today. Bieber was discovered though his YouTube videos. He was signed to RBMG Records and later joined Island Records. His debut EP, My World, was released in 2009 and contained seven Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Bieber's debut album, My World 2.0, was released in 2010. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and is certified Platinum. He followed up with the My World Tour and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

After his christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, Bieber released his third studio album, Believe, in 2012. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and is certified Platinum. Beiber won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards in 2010 and 2012 and earned Grammy nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album in 2011.

Bieber will be the next roastee on the Comedy Central Roast. It is scheduled to air March 30, and will have Kevin Hart as the Roast Master.

Lupita Nyong'o, 32

Mexican-Kenyan actress and film director Lupita Nyong'o turns 32 today. Nyong'o started her career in production. Nyong'o earned her master's degree in acting at the Yale School of Drama. While in school, she appeared in numerous stage productions including Doctor Faustus Lights the Lights, Uncle Vanya and William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew.

In 2013, Nyong'o gained international fame with her role in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave. She won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting actress as well as the Academy Award for the same category. With her win she became the first African actress to win the award and the first Kenyan actress to win an Oscar.

In 2014, Nyong'o had a minor role in the action thriller Non-Stop alongside Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore.

Nyong'o is scheduled to appear in the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. She will also star in and serve as a producer for the film adaptation of the novel Americanah. Nyong'o will also voice Raksha in the upcoming film The Jungle Book.
