Motley Crue’s Vince Neil performed the national anthem at the Las Vegas Outlaws' AFL game to some negative reviews on social media.
He started it off unconventionally, by yelling to the crowd “Here we go!” before launching into an equally unconventional version of the song. He also had some microphone issues, standing there searching for one before someone brought one out to him.
Neil is part owner of the Outlaws, and said in a statement before the game “I’m going to perform the National Anthem in honor of the Outlaws’ first game, for the fans and families in attendance, and for our veterans and service men and women everywhere,” HollywoodLife reports.
He was introduced by the team’s cheerleaders and they pulled out all the stops that a famous rock star calls for. But judging by the feedback on Twitter, the performance itself didn’t go so well.
No one has ever mistaken Vince Neil for a good singer, I don't think he was disrespecting the anthem, it was just a Crue song minus music.

Vince Neil can't even sing his own songs, how do you expect him to sing the National Anthem?
