Forbes' Most Powerful Women 2015 list includes Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Beyonce

German Chancellor Angela Merkel leads one of the most powerful countries and economies in the world, so it only makes perfect sense for her to retain her title as the No. 1 woman on Forbes Most Powerful Women list.

Merkel has topped the list since 2010 and is now at the top of the 2015 list, which was published on Tuesday.

However, Hillary Clinton is in second and could take the No. 1 spot if she is ever elected U.S. President. The former New York Senator, First Lady and Secretary of State already announced that she will run for president next year.

Melinda Gates, who runs the international Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with Bill Gates, took the third spot. Janet Yellen, the chairwoman of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank took No. 4, while GM CEO Mary Barra is at No. 4. Current First Lady Michelle Obama is at No. 10.
