Connor Cruise: Everyone taking Caitlyn Jenner transition 'way too seriously'

Connor Crusie, the son of Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise, made his feelings on the hoopla surrounding Caitlyn Jenner very clear during a Twitter rant this week.

Jenner started a media takeover on Monday when her Vanity Fair cover came out, introducing herself to the world. Since then it seems it's all anyone's been talking about and Crusie has an issue with that.

Cruise wasn’t taking a stance against Caitlyn’s decision to transition, instead he was pointing out that there are many more important topics to get fired up about.

He has since deleted the controversial tweets, but he started off disagreeing that Jenner should get the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs. “Really?? Winning the AA award for courage?? Ashton is gonna come out and yell PUNK’D,” he first wrote.

“Don’t get me wrong. Do what you feel like doing and don’t let anyone stop you. But everyone is taking this way too seriously,” he continued. “There are so many more important things that should be talked about and so many more important people that actually deserve an award.”

Cruise continued to highlight topics he think are more important, such as “the fact that we are overfishing and in 30 years there will be no more fish. Seems dumb but 85 percent of the worlds protein is fish,” or that “our planet is becoming less habitable on a daily basis. Yet the population is increasing at an alarming rate.”

“Or the fact that we all can't even get a long on earth lol. We fight and kill each other. We have war and poverty. This needs to change,” he tweeted.
