Sarah Palin and Fox News part ways

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Fox News have decided to part ways. She will no longer be listed as a regular on-air personality after the network decided not to renew her contract.

The news was first confirmed by Politico, which confirmed that it was an amicable split. A Fox News spokesperson told the site that the two split on June 1.

Palin is still expected to make occasional appearances on Fox News and Fox Business, so don’t expect her to go completely silent. In addition, she still has a Sportsman Channel show, speech appearances and is set to start a new publishing project.

Although Fox’s relationship with Palin has cooled recently, the former vice-presidential candidate still has a huge following. She had 4.4 million Facebook fans, more than any current GOP politician running for the party’s 2016 presidential nomination.

As the Washington Post notes, Palin made just six primetime appearances so far this year. Her last appearance came on June 8, when she came out swinging against the media coverage of the Josh Duggar scandal. Of course, Fox News itself disagreed with her view, sending Megyn Kelly to interview the Duggar family.
