'30 Rock' Scores 30 Emmy Nominations

30 Rock breaks Emmy history by scoring 30 nominations, the most ever for a comedy series.

This year's Emmy awards are filled with momentous nominations that no one saw coming. First "Family Guy" became the first cartoon series in 50 years to earn a best comedy series nomination. Then "30 Rock" broke records by scoring 30 nominations, the most any comedy series has received in Emmy history.

The show won best comedy series last year. This year, it is nominated in the aforementioned category as well as best comedy actor for Alec Baldwin and best comedy actress for Tina Fey. Joining "30 Rock" in the best comedy series category is "Family Guy", "How I Met Your Mother", "Weeds", and "Flight of the Conchords."

The Emmys is set to air on CBS on September 20 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Neil Patrick Harris, also nominated for an Emmy for "How I Met Your Mother," is set to host. Harris hosted the Tony Awards in June.
