4 More Get Cut on "American Idol"
According to the Associated Press, America voted off four more contestants from the country's favorite singing competition, American Idol.
The contestants that did not convince voters they had what it takes were Alaina Whitaker, Jason Yeager, Robbie Carrico and Alexandrea Lushington, which left 16 singers remaining after Thursday night's show.
Whitaker, 16, gave her final performance, singing "Hopelessly Devoted to You."
"You are a gifted, bright young talent. ... This is the start of an amazing career from you," Paula Abdul told Whitaker.
Simon Cowell, who wasn't surprised at America's decision to vote off Yeager, told him, "Your problem -- quite simply -- is that you don't stand out in the crowd at the moment."
Contestants that stood out this week for their well-liked performances were David Archuleta, 17, who sang "Imagine" and 24-year-old Brooke White who sang "You're So Vain," according to AP.
American Idol will return to its traditional schedule of two shows a week in March and will hold their finale in May.
