50 Cent Angry at Taco Bell
Grammy-winning artist 50 Cent has lashed out at the fast-food chain, Taco Bell. According to E! Online, the franchise told the rapper to change his name to 79, 89, or 99 Cent to promote their value menu. They added, nicely, that 50 can choose which name he will take on.
As if the $20 million lawsuit drama with his ex-girlfriend isn't enough.
The offer included a promise to donate $10,000 to a charity of the rapper's choice. But they also requested him to come to one of the many Taco Bell locations, and rap orders at the drive-thru.
"We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change," a letter sent to 50 and the press read. "We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to 'Think Outside the Bun' and hope you accept our offer."
As a response, Fiddy is planning to unleash his legal team on Taco Bell. "When my legal team is finished with them, Taco Bell is going to have a new corporate slogan: 'We messed with the bull and got the horns!'" he said.
The spokesperson for 50 Cent said that this was a "sleazy and ill-conceived publicity stunt" by Greg Creed, the president of Taco Bell. The "disingenuous offer was leaked to the press before it was even presented to 50 Cent's agent yesterday," he added.
