911 Tapes Reveal Brittany Murphy's Attempted Resuscitation
The 911 tapes recorded during actress Brittany Murphy's final moments were released yesterday, and they showed how her friends and relatives tried to save her when she collapsed on the bathroom floor Dec. 20.
Sharon Murphy, her mother, said on the tape that Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, was trying mouth to mouth resuscitation when they got into the bathroom and found her not breathing. The dispatcher then gave Sharon Murphy CPR instructions for Monjack to perform. The eight minute tape describes the symptoms Brittany Murphy had before passing out on the bathroom floor.
"She was dizzy. She couldn't walk right. She had a cold," Sharon Murphy told the dispatcher.
The actual cause of death remains unclear at this point, but the actress had been taking prescription drugs for medical ailments at the time. Which ailment she had and which drugs she was taking have not been released to the public as of yet.
