ABC Brings Back "Scrubs"

ABC confirms that TV series, "Scrubs," will return for its ninth season in the fall.

The returns are coming in one by one. After Fox picked up "Dollhouse" for another season, ABC announced that it would bring back "Castle" and "Better Off Ted" for a second season and the medical comedy "Scrubs" for a ninth season beginning in the fall.

After "Scrubs" had experienced low ratings last season after its move from NBC to ABC and Zach Braff, who plays Dr. John Dorian, announced he was leaving, the series was predicated to end, according to BBC News.

Braff, however, will be reappearing next season for another six episodes. The comedic Dr. Elliot Reid, played by Sarah Chalke, has also been asked to work on the transitional episodes before handing the show over to a new cast, reported BBC News.

ABC has also announced that five new pilots will air shortly. "Cougar Town," starring Courteney Cox, "Hank," which features Kelsey Grammer, "The Middle," starring Patricia Heaton, "Happy Town," "Eastwick," and "The Forgotten," produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
