Looks like Modern Family, Happy Endings and Suburgatory are more than enough funny for ABC.
Entertainment Weekly reported the network is cutting back on episodes for Cougar Town's third season.
Instead of 22 episodes, Courtney Cox's show will only have 15 episodes.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the comedy was originally scheduled to air midseason, but wasn't penciled into the showtime calendar the network revealed Friday.
Instead, new shows Work It and Don't Trust the Bitch will premiere and makes their way onto TV screens.
However, just because the network canned seven episodes, doesn't mean higher-ups are losing faith.
A source told THR that, on the contrary, ABC still has high hopes for the show. This statement is pretty hard to believe considering Cougar Town's past troubles and obstacles.
Ever since the comedy premiered in 2009, it has had to battle one scheduling conflict after another. The pause button was hit in the middle of season 2, when it was airing on Monday nights, and the show was left off-air for more than two months. When it finally returned, it was slotted back into its original Wednesday night time frame.
According to THR, season 3 will most like premiere in January.
