ABC cuts Rihanna and Britney Spears' kiss on Billboard Awards
ABC misses the action: accident or not?
On last night's Billboard Awards, Britney Spears and Rihanna performed together to a remix of Rihanna's song "S&M." For those of us who were watching ABC, we missed the biggest part -- Rihanna planting a big kiss on Spears' cheek.
The network cut away from the two performers at the exact time Rihanna went in for the smooch.
So, we miss the kiss. But many are wondering if this cut to the audience is more than what it seems.
What do we take away from the stunt? Gawker explains that maybe the network was trying to save the two stars from more attention. Maybe the camera was moving too quickly to catch the act. Or, could it have been because the two performers are the same sex.
