ABC Goes Music Video For New Season

ABC will use music videos to promote their new season.

Cross marketing through various media platforms is the swelling wave of the future. According to Reuters, ABC is planning on producing music videos with both original content and already recorded songs featuring clips of their shows and the artist. "Ugly Betty" "Grey's Anatomy" and "Desperate Housewives" are some of the shows that will have their very own music video promotion. ABC used this method of promoting some shows last year and it worked out very well for them. They will have 11 videos, each featuring a different show, that will be available on ABC.com, ABC, and in some cases iTunes. This method of launching the new Fall season is win-win on all levels. ABC promotes its shows and the artists, which are under labels affiliated with ABC so no licensing has to be paid. The "Ugly Betty" music video features the British pop singer Mika. Mika re-recorded his single "Big Girl" and added new lyrics "Betty Girl." "Desperate Housewives" is getting remixed with Sean Kingston's hit song "Beautiful Girls."
