ABC Launches a Music Lounge

ABC is launching a music lounge to bring viewers their favorite music from shows.

ABC is launching a new online music lounge that offers songs and artists featured in some of their shows, such as Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives.

The lounge will feature more than 200 singers and bands, Web pages for the artists and links for online purchases, the Associated Press reported. Also on the site will be exclusive music videos, performances and interviews. It is set to debut on Thursday, along with Grey's Anatomy's 100th episode. To promote both, the site will offer music that has been featured in the show's history.

"This is a way to bring all the music of ABC into one place, to allow people to find and enjoy it," Michael Benson, ABC executive vice president of marketing, said.

This venture is also being used to demonstrate to the music industry the importance of TV, the AP reports.

Peter DiCecco, ABC senior vice president of business and legal affairs for music, said that although music sales are declining, it doesn't mean people don't want music anymore.

"People always want a venue to find music," he said. "TV is that venue."
