ABC Orders up Two More Pilots

ABC has given the greenlight for two more comedy pilots: a nationalistic comedy entitled "How to Be a Better American” and a comedy written by stand-up comic Dana Gould.

According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, “The untitled Dana Gould project, from Warner Bros. TV and 3 Arts, centers on Dana (Gould), a guidance counselor at a local high school and father to two young children, who is caught between his father's old school parenting beliefs and his wife's very progressive ideals.”

Gould will be the project’s showrunner along with 3 Arts' Tom Lassally and Dave Becky.

The HollywoodReporter.com article goes on to say that, “UTA-repped Gould's writing credits include ‘The Simpsons,’ for which he shared two best animated series Emmys with the rest of the show's producing team, and NBC's ‘Parks and Recreation.’ He also is a frequent contributor to HBO's ‘Bill Maher Show.’”

Gould’s stand-up routine covers his childhood in Hopedale, Massachusetts as well as his family life. He has appeared on HBO, Showtime and Comedy Central, among others. Gould also wrote and performed on the Fox sketch comedy “The Ben Stiller Show,” which aired from September 1992 to January 1993.
