ABC's Wife Swap Has Year Round Appeal
Wife Swap, ABC's ratings-hog on the competitive Wednesday 10 p.m. period against NBC's Law & Order and CBS' CSI: NY will continue throughout the year.
The show features two mothers and/or wives from different backgrounds swapping households for two weeks and acting as the woman-of-the-house, in someone else's house.
ABC has picked up Wife Swap by ordering 22 episodes, including two specials, Husband Swap and Boss Swap, which will serve as pilots for the potential spin-off series.
Although the show has been slightly overshadowed by ABC's new dramas Desperate Housewives and Lost, and the reality series is competing with Law & Order among adults 18-49, the Wife Swap has improved ABC's performance in the hour in the demo by 52%, according to Reuters.
